Botanical Smash Dye Craftalong w/ Jacqui

join the dirty hoe coven for a botanical smash dye craftalong. grab some simple supplies before our call time, and join us for a brief talk about botanical smash dye projects, followed by a DIY craftalong. we will share which flowers we've chosen for the evening, discuss the beautiful pigments and scents (for better or worse) that are released as we smash, and each create something unique and crafty! some paper crafting examples to make include: making a piece of wall art, a bookmark, some stationary or a card, decorate a page in a junk journal, or whatever speaks to you.

*suggested materials: porous paper (not shiny/coated), scissors (stems/paper cutting), fresh flowers & leaves, a mallet/hammer (or similar), scrap wood to smash on, parchment or wax paper, paintbrush/ tweezers/ paper towels/ painter’s tape (optional for post-smash flower removal), and lastly- crafty stuff like markers for doodles, washii tape, ribbon, stickers etc. if making collage-style mixed media art.

*considerations: a bit noisy, possible strong smells, a bit messy. and, be sure to collect your flowers early enough to allow our insect friends time to escape!
